Power & Utilities

In the power and utilities sector, water is a fundamental resource for generating electricity, especially in highly water-intensive thermal and nuclear power plants.

Recent shifts away from traditional energy production (i.e., coal and gas) to “greener” energy generation from wind turbines and solar panels nonetheless demand water for cooling and internal function.

Alarmingly, as clean water becomes increasingly scarce, our methods of energy production are not necessarily decreasing in water consumption, sparking a growing need for cyclicality.
